With Apple’s new operating system, which will be released later this year, comes a brand new Home app, which receives support for the new Matter standard among other things. However, one thing that will disappear this fall is the possibility of using the iPad as a home hub for automation and the like.
The iPad has always been possible to use as a home hub for those who don’t have an Apple TV or HomePod in their home, but instead have an iPad that never leaves the house. The reason why Apple has stopped supporting this is not clear.
