A custom app can also be pinned to the start menu or taskbar for quick and easy access. You can run the app in the background, for example, to listen to your favorite music while working on other things.
Microsoft has added the ability to create an app for a web page of your choice in the Edge browser. The same feature is available in Google Chrome. A separate app is then created that uses the same foundation as the browser used to create it, but appears to be an app rather than a browser.
