Sony has already come up with hints.
Sony boss Jim Ryan was asked how he and Playstation responded to Xbox Game Pass, and he admits Actually, news is on the way.. No news has come since the November quote.
David Jaffe is the man behind it God of War And one of the men is behind him Twisted metalAnd has long been a part of Sony. He is no longer like this, but he claims that he spoke to him “The majority of” Playstation sources who say the same thing: Of course, Sony is working on something it should be “against” Xbox Game Pass.
Jaffe himself said this in one Stream Which he posted on his YouTube channel yesterday.
What I can say is that I know that they do some things because I know people at Sony who have told me that they do some things. There will be a response to Game Pass.
Jaffe is somewhat concerned as the patents suggest Sony’s response may be to emulate backward compatibility with PS1, PS2 and PS3, and add support for awards. And incorporate that via the movie streaming service “and stuff”. This isn’t the right way to go, says Jaffe.
However, he willingly admits that he does not know exactly how it will go.
That would get me going, “I don’t think a guy has a clue,” because that won’t compete with Game Pass, but I don’t know if that’s the case, but I don’t think Jim Ryan is ready to throw under the bus at all.
The PS Store will soon be closed for PS3 and other devices. Maybe Sony Game Pass will give new life to games?
