Chinese Xiaomi continues to push the limits of fast charging.
A few years ago, the company introduced the so-called Super Charge Turbo solution, which can charge a smartphone with a 4,000 mAh battery in 17 minutes.
But since then, there has been silence about Xiaomi’s fast charging, which also hasn’t included 100W technology in any of the new models in this year’s Mi 11 series (despite the flagship mobile Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra It comes with a 67W cable and wireless charging). Only last year Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra was equipped with 120W fast charging.

200 watts hypercharge
Now it seems that there are other cakes going on anyway, just a few hours ago Xiaomi introduced a new charging technology called “ HyperCharge ”, which can charge the Mi 11 with a 4000mAh battery from zero to 50% in just three minutes. It takes eight minutes to fully charge. You can see a demonstration in the video below.
Likewise, Xiaomi has also launched a wireless version of HyperCharge, which will be able to charge a mobile phone with a 4000 mAh battery in just 15 minutes.
At the time of writing, it is not known when – or at all – Xiaomi plans to make the new technology commercially available in smartphones or other products.
The fact that this year’s Mi 11 Ultra had to settle for a 67W charge – a significant downgrade from last year’s Mi 10 Ultra with a 120W charge – may indicate that Xiaomi is having a hard time dealing with the very obvious challenges presented by fast charging for heat production and battery life. Total.
