In the past few days, French newspaper L’Equipe reported that Leicester had accepted an offer of 875 million crowns for centre-back Wesley Fofana, who had recently tried to move away from his current club. Meanwhile, RMC Sport reports that Chelsea and the 23-year-old have agreed a six-year contract until 2028.

It also seems like it’s just a matter of details before the transition gets in the way.

According to The Athletic, the center back will undergo a medical soon. But not in the UK where it actually is. Information indicates that he will travel to the United States. The reason for this must be that it was on the advice of Chelsea FC owner Todd Boehle. He wants peace of mind after Fofana sustained a serious injury (broken ankle) last year, which kept the Frenchman out for most of last season.

The 21-year-old Frenchman made seven appearances in the Premier League last season.

In total, Fofana has played around 50 matches for Leicester since his signing from Saint-Etienne in 2020. His current contract runs until June 2027.
