The Saints Row series hasn’t received any proper new additions since the release of the Gat Out of Hell expansion in 2015, but now it seems like it’s time to get to know the game series that has been unpacked. THQ Nordic announced a couple of years ago that developers Volition were working on a new Saints Row game, but since then we haven’t had any comprehensive news about the game. Now it seems like it’s time for a proper reveal as developers and Gamescom Opening Night host Geoff Keighley have started teasing that something to do with Saints Row is coming. And since Gamescom opening night kicks off on Wednesday night, you don’t need to be a rocket surgeon to know when we’ll get our first look.
It doesn’t look like the new Saints Row will be a real sequel, but it’s exciting that it’s a reboot. I have a bit of mixed feelings about this, but since the series started getting weird in the fourth game, it could do just fine with a slightly more basic storyline.
In any case. Gamescom’s opening night begins at 20:00 on Wednesday and then we’ll take a first look at what Volition should show.
