Earlier this week, Sony showed the PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2) to the press. Among all the interviews that were done, it has now been revealed that games released for the first PlayStation VR will not be compatible with PSVR2. The reason for this is simply that PSVR2 is more advanced than its predecessor and has completely different controls.
“PlayStation VR games are not compatible with PlayStation VR2 because PlayStation VR2 is designed to be a truly next-generation virtual reality experience. PlayStation VR2 has more advanced features such as an all-new console with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, as I do said, and inside-out tracking In it, 3D sound come together, 4K HDR of course… This means that creating games for PlayStation VR2 requires a completely different approach than the original PlayStation VR.These features actually allow developers to create worlds that feel more vibrant and vivid, bringing gamers closer to the experience. ever. So, if the old games run on the new headset, they simply need to be rebuilt.
PlayStation VR2 is scheduled for release in early 2023.
