Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is one of the Premier League players who has stopped playing for the next national team.

Next week, the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers continue.

But many countries will be able to do without the stars who live in the British Isles on a daily basis.

The English Premier League puts an end to that.

Yesterday, Liverpool club announced the ban of star Mohamed Salah from the national team matches with Egypt next September.

Now the Premier League follows.

The English Football Association said in a statement that all clubs had unanimously decided not to give up players whose national teams will play in the red-listed countries next month. In total, nearly 60 players from 19 Premier League clubs will be suspended from national team matches in September.

Brazil without major players

Since Brazil and Argentina are among the countries on the red list, for example, Mohamed Salah’s Brazilian teammates – Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson Becker – as well as Manchester City duo Gabriel Jesus and Ederson will be responsible for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The reason is the British quarantine regulations. Players who have visited the Red List countries will be quarantined for at least ten days upon their return to the UK. According to the statement, some players will then miss two league matches, a European Cup match and the third round of the English Premier League.
