In 2014, Prince Harry created the Invictus Games for Athletes, an event where injured soldiers compete in different sports.
When this year’s edition opens, which takes place April 16-22 in The Hague, the Netherlands, Harry will be in attendance with Ms. Meghan.
This is the first time Meghan has left the United States since the couple left the British royal family two years ago, something British media called a “megsite”. The couple is expected to arrive in the Netherlands on Friday.
Meghan is looking forward to traveling with Harry for the event close to his heart, says a source in the mirror.
The film crew will follow the prince and princess during matches for a planned Netflix documentary series.
Harry’s ex-bodyguard: ‘It’s amazing’
Harry did not attend Prince Philip’s memorial service last week because he was concerned about the safety of his family in Britain.
– It’s amazing that Harry seems to think he’s safer in the Netherlands than in the UK, says ex-police Ken Wharf who was once the Prince’s bodyguard and continues:
There is a greater risk of traveling to the Netherlands for a charitable event with military connections than of going to London.
