He wrote earlier this year about Dbrand not being allowed to sell replacement boards for the PlayStation as Sony deemed the boards in question to be part of the PS5 IP. Dbrand chose to ignore the warnings and began selling his own tailored versions of the wings.
But now Dbrand has had to shut down her business after receiving a warning letter from Sony threatening legal action if it doesn’t stop the business. By a rude answer reddit Dbrand wrote that they would shut down the business so they could find out what was going on and they also took the opportunity to contact Sony terrorists.
“We have chosen to succumb to the demands of terrorists…for now. While we strongly believe in the consumer’s right to customize and modify their machines using aftermarket components, your Darkplates are now a collector’s item. You know what they say – you too are a dying Darkplates owner, Or live long enough to see yourself become a freeloader. In conclusion, damn you and especially, damn Sony. Speak soon”
Dbrand’s PS5 Darkplates was priced at $49, and if you want a sticker for the middle part, add $10.
