This rumor is getting interesting because previous Matrix games on PS2 have been great. The Matrix: Path of Neo and Enter the Matrix may not have been well received by critics, but they are still one of the most beloved games on PS2. Playing as Keanu Reeves in a raincoat and fighting enemies with Superman-like attacks was a very good experience.
If this rumor is true, then we hope that the developers of this new game will succeed in recreating and improving the feel of the previous games. Imagine Max Payne 3 shooting and bullet game mechanics with Superman-like battles – it would be a dream come true.
