For a while, there were concerns that many of them The most popular Steam games may not be compatible with Steam DecNS. Fortunately, it appears that will not be the case.
Steam Deck is a new portable console that is actually a Linux PC in a small format. According to Valve, nearly all games on Steam will be supported by the device — but fans soon noticed that there could be problems with hugely popular titles like Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Rainbow Six Siege, and Apex Legends (among others).
That’s because these games all rely on anti-cheat software like BattlEye and Easy Anti-Cheat whose compatibility has not been confirmed with Proton – a tool that allows Windows programs to run on Linux and is an important part of making games work on Steam deck.
These issues mean that about 28% of the 50 most active titles on Steam may not work on the Steam Deck, which would have been a huge minus for those who want to be able to take their favorite games with them on the go. However, BattleEye and Easy Anti-Cheat said fans had nothing to worry about.

Will the developers jump on board?
However, this does not mean that everything is resolved, as developers still have to activate Proton support manually. However, BattlEye and Easy Anti-Cheat make this seem like a fairly simple process, and we imagine the developers would feel motivated to do so – if the console could build a decent following base, that is.
Depending on the complexity of the process, we may see some developers enable Proton support right from the start, while others get left behind until there is a large user base on the Steam Deck platform.
So while we expect most games to enable this feature, we recommend that you check that your favorite titles are supported by Steam Deck before clicking on the main console.
