Viaplay continues to grow – new collaborations in North America and Great Britain


Partnered with Roku in the US, Canada and the UK


In a press release, Viaplay reveals that it has entered into a partnership with Roku, which means that Viaplay content will launch on Roku’s devices in the US, Canada and the UK.





Viaplay Group and Roku have signed a multi-year deal that makes streaming service Viaplay available for subscription through Roku’s devices in the US, Canada and the UK. Viewers in all three countries can now subscribe to Viaplay’s complete local offerings via Roku, which is the number one TV streaming platform in the US and Canada in terms of hours streamed (Source: Hypothesis Group, December 2022).

In December, the ViaPlay team and Roku announced a deal to add ViaPlay to premium subscriptions to The Roku Channel in the US.

Viaplay range in North America and UK

In the US and Canada, Viaplay subscribers have access to over 1,500 hours of acclaimed series and movies, along with carefully selected third-party content. Viaplay is the world’s largest producer of Nordic Noir – premium drama from the Nordic region – and the range includes first-rate crime thrillers, youth series, historical dramas, documentaries and more.

Viaplay series available in North America include the provocative teen drama Three; Critically acclaimed biography Dreamer – Karen Blixen comes to life with Connie Nielsen (Gladiator); and the American-Swedish crime series Cell 8.

Viaplay customers in the UK can watch hit titles such as the intense crime drama Investigation with Lars Mikkelsen (House of Cards); Acclaimed Danish series White sand And Spa Hotel; And legendary the bridge; as well as from live sports such as football UEFA EURO 2024 Qualifiers, Lalica And Scottish Cup, United Rugby Championship And from ice hockey NHL.
