Viaplay and KPN announce Dutch distribution agreement

Viaplay and KPN, the leading fixed and mobile telephony, broadband and television provider in the Netherlands, have agreed a multi-year distribution partnership. The agreement makes Viaplay available to 3.6 million households in the country when the streaming service launches in the Netherlands on March 1, 2022.

From March, KPN customers will be able to add a Viaplay subscription to their entertainment packages through a TV, broadband or mobile package, or subscribe to the service as a standalone subscription. Viaplay will offer Dutch viewers a unique blend of premium live sports, Viaplay Originals, Hollywood movies, series and children’s content.

Live sports will include Viaplay Formula 1 with Dutch superstar Max Verstappen, who is currently in the lead in the Drivers’ Championship; PDC competes with three-time world champion Michael Van Gerwin; German Football League and much more, as well as English Football League from August 2022.

In the Netherlands, Viaplay will be available through third-party distribution agreements and subscriptions sold directly to customers. The service is supported by a wide range of devices and platforms, including Smart TVs. smartphones and tablets running iOS and Android; Chromecast and Apple TV; A PC and Mac.
