There are no plans to return to the UK

In February 2020, Prince Harry and his wife Megan, Duchess of Sussex, announced their decision to leave the British royal family.

According to the couple, the decision was made based on the fact that they have the opportunity to work and be financially independent.

The prince and princess moved their home in Frockmore Cottage to a mansion in Santa Barbara, California, where they have lived since June 2020.

Since then Prince Harry has met with the royal family several times. On the other hand, visits were without the company of the Duchess.

British author Tom Bower writes in The Sun that Megan will never return to Britain for Queen Elizabeth’s platinum anniversary celebrations or in general.

“Hopeless Case”

The author writes that the Duchess sees Britain as a “case of hopelessness” and that she “does not care what the British think.”

Bower also wrote that Megan was not worried about being welcomed in London and that her distance from the UK could be based on her declining popularity.

“After holding a Hollywood-style wedding in Windsor, he complained about how the British media and the royal family treated him the following year.”

He continues:

“Her hypocrisy began to undermine her popularity.”

However, he explains that despite Megan’s declining popularity in the UK, she is still admired in the US.

Finally, Power wrote, it is not currently clear where Megan’s ultimate goal is professionally. But he has strong support among Democrats, minorities and young people who support him in his quest to become an American politician.
