The short 12-second video sequence is unpleasant, and therefore not rendered by SVT in its entirety. The video, posted just over a week ago, has gone viral on social media.
SVT has not been able to verify where or when the video was filmed, but Ukrainian authorities and the soldier’s relatives maintain that Matsijeevsky was executed in the video.

She sent the video to her daughter-in-law, Julia, whose voice showed her mourning for her son, Misja. The son became very upset and cried uncontrollably.
He was awarded the highest award of Ukraine
Oleksandr Matsijevskyj was an electrician in Kiev, but joined the army as a volunteer after the Russian invasion. On December 30, 2022, he and four other Ukrainian soldiers were engaged in a gunfight near Solidar when they were taken prisoner. Matsijewski’s brothers-in-arms are still missing. The day before he calls his mother, this will be the last call.

President Volodymyr Zelensky posthumously awarded Matsijevski the highest award “Hero of Ukraine” and Foreign Minister Kuleba called on the ICC prosecutor to immediately open an investigation.
