The spread of the coronavirus has increased again in the UK, so restrictions are being maintained for longer than planned. For now, this means that tourists from all countries participating in the European Championship must be quarantined for five days upon their arrival in the UK.
It will be a problem for UEFA when the semi-finals and final of the European Championships are held in London.
“We are now in discussions with local authorities about allowing fans of participating teams to come to matches. They will use rigorous and bubble testing that will make them stay in the UK for less than 24 hours,” UEFA wrote.
According to the Associated Press, the plan is to play medal matches in Budapest where quarantine requirements are not an issue and a crowded arena is allowed.
“There is always a contingency plan, but we think the last week will be in London.”
UEFA has already succeeded in increasing the number of spectators at Wembley from 22,000 to 40,000 when the playoffs begin.
