Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney become co-owners of Alpine | Formula 1

The Formula 1 season is in full swing, and Alpine Renault, with drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, scored 44 points. They are the fifth top ten teams that F1 Circus has.

Now they have new partners, famous partners. Hollywood duo Rob McElhinney and Ryan Reynolds, known for songs like “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Deadpool,” are leading a group of investors who have bought nearly 25% of the team’s more than SEK 2.3 billion shares. The group, called Redbird Capital, already owns the AC Milan soccer team.

The team’s new valuation: just over ten billion crowns (!)

Earlier in the season, soccer legend Zinedine Zidane became an ambassador for the UK-based French team. After a reasonably successful start to the season, the team is now receiving an addition from the American side.

Since then, the Hollywood duo has also owned Welsh football club Wrexham AFC, which has now been promoted to the fourth tier of English football.

With the newly added investment, the company behind the team is valued at around ten billion crowns.

– This partnership helps accelerate our development by developing company value, says Luca de Meo, Group CEO of Renault.

– We aim for our car to fight for victory in the Formula 1 championship.
