After the “referendums” in Kherson, Luhansk, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya, the Kremlin has now decided to officially annex the four occupied regions, Russia’s state news agency TASS writes.
At 15:00 Russian time (14:00 Sweden time) on Friday, a grand party will take place in Moscow where an agreement will be signed.
Russian President Vladimir Putin appears to be giving a speech. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also announced that a rock concert would be held on Red Square during the concert.
Giant video screens were set up in the square, showing pro-Russian messages about the annexation.
The West directs harsh criticism
According to Reuters, this means that Russia Will take 15 percent off Ukraine province.
Countries in the West announced that they would not accept the results of “referendums” accused of being illegal. Serbia and Kazakhstan, historically allied with Russia, also announced that they would not recognize the annexation.
Both the United States and the European Union have plans to impose additional sanctions on Russia in response to the annexation.
During Thursday, both Prime Minister Magdalena Anderson and Secretary of State Anne Lindy wrote that they would continue to view Ukrainian regions as part of Ukraine.
