On Wednesday it will be exactly 60 years since the Beatles gave their first concert outside the UK at Sundstagymnasiet Hall. A warm welcome to the celebration in the social area of Sundsta-Älvkullegymnasiet.
On 25 October 1963, The Beatles played their first two concerts outside the UK, at the Sundstagymnasiet Hall of all places. At that time, only a few people knew how big it was, and tickets cost only a few ten kroner.
Among other things, the concerts are monitored by Hans-Olof Gottfredson, Ph.D., university lecturer in cultural geography at Karlstad University, as well as a Beatles expert who tells more about the evening and shows photos. Music students at Sundsta-Älvkullegymnasiet will also play Beatles songs in the social section.
– It's really great that The Beatles chose to do their first concerts outside the UK in Karlstad. I look forward to drawing attention to this great event in this way, says Hans Olof Gottfredson, PhD and senior lecturer in cultural geography at Karlstad University.
