Meek Mill teams up with Michael Rubin and Kevin Hart to donate millions of dollars to Philadelphia schools

Pennsylvania trio Meek Mill, Michael Rubin and Kevin Hart have teamed up again for a charity event for Philadelphia, according to a press release. Last year, the trio donated $15 million to more than 100 schools in the Philadelphia area. Now join again and they’ll donate another seven million dollars. This time the donation will be distributed to 60 different needy schools in the area and both scholarships and computers will be funded for low-income students.

In a Twitter thread, Meek comments on the incident by making connections to his own schools.

In another tweet, he expresses his frustration at how what he vaguely calls “blogs” only capture negative events – which may be a reference to various recent events in Ghana.

Meek, who recently discovered he is of Ghanaian descent, was visiting Accra to play at the Afronation Festival. Related to that, take the opportunity to shoot Music video in the Republican Palace, also called the “Jubilee House”. In the video, Mick appears with his friends in the various corridors of the palace, as well as behind the presidential podium. The whole thing caused so much discontent in the country that the video was filmed without permission. Yesterday he apologized via Twitter, writing:

“For the people of Ghana, no video I drop would mean disrespect to the people of Ghana at all. The quickest way to make a connection is through music.” [sic] And I wanted to do that by showing art. I’m in my 30s from America and didn’t know much about the lifestyle.”

The video has now been removed from his social media but can be seen via the tweet below.

It’s the beginning of an eventful year for Mick. He revealed last week that he will be releasing four albums in 2023 — one for each quarter. Read more here And listen to the latest “Flamerz 5” below.
