Major disruptions to Microsoft services | GP

As of Wednesday morning, thousands of users of tech giant Microsoft’s services have reported operational disruptions.

“We are investigating issues affecting several Microsoft 365 services,” Microsoft wrote on Twitter.

Among others, digital meeting service Groups and email service Outlook were affected, Reuters reported.

Microsoft Teams is used by 280 million people worldwide. Reuters writes that many users in Japan, India, Great Britain and Australia have been affected by the outages, according to outage monitoring site DownDetractor.

Microsoft has released its latest quarterly report announcing the layoff of 10,000 employees. Turnover rose 2 percent in the fourth quarter, the slowest growth in six years. At the same time, the company’s overhead costs increased.

Microsoft recently reinvested in Open AI, the owner of AI service Chat GPT.
