Future Finnish-Swedish basketball promise Mikael Jantunen has been named to the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, which participates in the Summer League.
In addition to Jantunen, Hannu Muttola, Petteri Koponen, Eric Murphy and Laurie Markkanen participated in the Summer League. The Summer League is for the NBA clubs to be able to test and develop players with potential.
– I was apparently able to do my thing in the mini-warrior camp, when such an invitation appeared. I intend to take this as an opportunity to evolve.
– I think I have a chance to help my team win the Summer League, Jantunen commented in the Basketball Association’s press release.
Jantunen plays every day for Basket Treviso in Serie A, where he recently finished his first season at the club. The Golden State Warriors play their next two games against the Sacramento Kings in early July after which the team participates in the Summer League in Las Vegas.
Lassi Tuović is also testing his wards at the NBA level
Lacey Tovey, the head coach of the national basketball team, is part of the Utah Jazz organization during the summer league where he is part of the coaching staff.

Tove is sure that this opportunity will have a positive impact on the Finnish national basketball team. He believes the Utah Jazz are interested in seeing future national team Lauri Markkanen and a late-summer World Cup championship.
– This will strengthen the national team. I will have the opportunity to exchange information and learn new things. Lauri (Markanen) has a major role in the future plans of the national team and the club.
Tuović says he might dream of one day being an NBA coach, but he just doesn’t see it right now.
You have to dream big. I intend to use this trip to learn as much as possible so that I can develop as a coach and at the same time develop the activities of the national team.
