We have a touching glimpse into the HBO Max TV series “The Last of Us,” which premieres in 2023.
Besides “House of the Dragon,” which premieres on HBO Max today, arguably the most anticipated TV series on the streaming service is the upcoming movie from the game. “the last of us” from 2013.
“The Last of Us” takes place twenty years after the destruction of modern civilization after a deadly fungal virus turned a large portion of humanity into starving zombies. Here we meet survivor Joel charged with smuggling girl Ellie across the United States. What starts as just a job slowly develops into a strong relationship.
In the main roles we see Pedro Pascal (“The Mandalorian”) and Bella Ramseyy (“Game of Thrones”) as Joel and Ellie, while behind the series is “Chernobyl” creator Craig Mazin and game director Neil Druckmann.
In the trailer where we see short clips from several upcoming TV series on HBO Max, at the end we see a small clip from exactly “The Last of Us”, which undoubtedly looks promising (circa 01.40).

The first thing that comes to my mind when I see the movie scenes is that Pedro Pascal looks remarkably similar to his in-game counterpart, performed by outstanding voice actor Troy Baker.
In the little trailer, we also hear Bella Ramsey draw a well-known line from the game, Nick Offerman (“Parks and Recreation”) as Bill’s character and a little glimpse into the horrific monsters that hunt our heroes.
Looking forward to ‘The Last of Us’ on HBO Max?
