The fridge and freezer were ruined by food left by the tenant – and had to be completely replaced. The landlord is now claiming more than SEK 100,000 for new appliances, unpaid rent and repairs to the apartment.
At the end of last year, the landlord, Wilhelm, no longer received any rent for the rented apartment in Helsingborg. Now the housing company has gone to the local court to claim money from the previous tenant, who emigrated to Great Britain.
There is no mobile cleaning
When the tenant left the apartment, the employees of the housing company entered. Then he was unclean and had not emptied all the household utensils. “Because leftovers had been left for too long to clean the fridge and freezer, the fridge and freezer were replaced,” Wilhelm wrote in his application to the court.
Rentals are missing
The tenant now has to pay over SEK 100,000. This includes four monthly rents of just over SEK 8,000 each. The cost of new devices is 16,000 SEK.
The landlord wants the rest of the money for cleaning and various damages in the apartment that he had to fix, including changing the moldings, painting the walls and putting in a new floor.
Hem & Hyra searched for the tenant for comment, to no avail.
