Are you looking for different support offices and handle multiple agreements and invoices for ICT?

A new survey shows that the majority of Swedish companies that go the long way in digitizing are choosing instead to pool all of the technology from one resource.

Avoiding time-consuming management and lower costs are two important advantages, says Daniel Stark, Head of Strategy and Business Development at Telia.

It is not uncommon for a company to have four to five ICT and telephony suppliers.

Traditionally, there is a dichotomy between ICT services. When technology is developing rapidly, it’s also easy to hire new suppliers “for now only” when you need to invest, says Daniel Stark, head of strategy and business development at Telia, who continues:

– But there will be many contacts, bills, and agreements to keep track of – and sometimes services and products that don’t complement each other optimally.

Technological mess becomes the manager’s responsibility

When something goes wrong, you might not even know which support to contact. Is the computer, the connection, or the Internet connection is wrong?

Confinement steals time and creates frustration. Because not many suppliers talk to each other, Daniel Stark says, there is a risk that technical issues between the chairs will end up – and land in the boss’s bosom, especially at a smaller company.

4 out of 10 companies have a technical partner

But now many are thinking. The collection of most of the ICT solutions in a supplier is a growing trend among Swedish companies. 43 percent chose such a complete solution – and 23 percent answered that they haven’t done so yet, but they care. This is evidenced by the new report of the Telia Digital Index 2021, which every year takes the pace of the digital maturity of Swedish companies.

The trend was clearest among the highly digital companies, where 6 out of 10 assembled the technology, and among the larger companies with more than 50 employees where more than half did the same. Daniel Stark says that larger companies generally are more digital mature.

But many small companies with up to nine employees are also moving towards such a solution. The survey shows that more than half have already collected most of it from or are interested in a supplier.

Big profits for small businesses

Not the least of which is that small businesses have a lot to gain, according to Daniel Stark.

Technology is getting more and more complex and difficult to have in-house expertise. An external partner can assist you with a smart integrated solution that makes your business smoother, more efficient and develops the company’s business. In a small company, it can also be noticeable if managing all technology becomes a time stealer.

In the Telia Digital Index report, companies highlight several benefits of gathering technology from a partner. Here are the top five:

* Less management

* Lower total cost

* It’s easy to have a resource to turn to for questions and problems

* A partner to build relationships and develop with them

* More safe and effective – supplier takes full responsibility.

Daniel Stark:

If you have multiple suppliers, the costs often disappear and become difficult to track. It can also be expensive in the form of spending time managing.

It solves acute technology problems – and improves the company

Daniel Stark believes having a partner to turn to is appreciated in the short and long term.
