It might have been expected that this somewhat provocative premise coupled with the star power behind the project would attract a wide audience, but the film was met with largely negative reviews from critics and eventually outstripped its UK cinema release.
Instead, until now it has only been available to rent and own on digital platforms, yet the film may be about to be discovered by a new audience thanks to its online release.

Can I watch Miller's Girl in the UK?
The film is currently available to rent and buy on a number of streaming services in the UK, including Amazon Prime Video, Google Play and YouTube, having been released on Monday 19 February.
Meanwhile, viewers in the US can now stream the film on Netflix, after it was added to the platform Thursday 25 April. As of now, there's no indication whether the film will also be added to the UK Netflix library in due course – but we'll keep this page updated if we hear any further information.
The Miller Girl Conspiracy
The official synopsis reads: “A talented young writer embarks on a creative journey when her mentor assigns them a project that engages them in an increasingly complex web.
“As lines blur and their lives intertwine, master and student must confront their darkest selves as they struggle to maintain their individual sense of purpose and the things they hold most dear.”
Is there a trailer for Miller's Girl?
Yes, a trailer for the film was released in December of last year, and shows Freeman's character discussing his compelling new student Cairo with his classmates (played by Dagmara Domisek and Bashir Saladin).
Elsewhere in the trailer, we see Gideon Adlon's character Winnie encouraging Cairo to make Jonathan fall in love with her.
“It's like he's living in grayscale and you're the first thing he sees in color,” Winnie tells Cairo.
