Baskery returns to the Gävle and KAKEL concert halls!

Gävle Konserthus presents a concert with Baskery! Expect “banjopunk”, “newfolk” and “nordicana” – a lively show with hair-raising, sultry brotherly sounds!

Baskery is Greta, Stella and Suneva Bondeson. Since forming in 2008, they have released four full-length albums and successfully toured the world. No matter where the Swedish sisters are, audiences exclaim that they have never seen or heard anything like it – and that Baskery has a completely unique attitude and performs with what seems like inexhaustible energy.

Baskery are all about turning music upside down, blending straight-up punk grit and grit with the subtle, nuanced tradition of singer/songwriter. Handpicked to support Gary Clark Jr., Robbie Williams, Seth Lachman, Lukas Nelson and Brandi Carlile, they have performed at festivals such as Glastonbury (UK), Shrewsbury Folk Festival (UK), Solvest (UK), Shambhala (UK), Bonnaroo (USA), Newport Folk Festival (USA), SXSW (USA), Calgary Folk Festival (CAN), Winnipeg Folk Festival (CAN), Woodford Folk Festival (Australia), Piece & Love (SE), Storsjöyran (SE), Colours of Austro (CZ) and Tønder (DK).

In early 2022, the band teamed up with producer Sean Lachman (The Levellers, Billy Bragg, Imelda May) to record their fifth album. They worked together intensely and inspiredly in a secluded studio in the English countryside of Devon. The result is a versatile soundscape, with each track given its own unique costume. The common thread is found in the musicianship and the song harmonies. The new album will be released in autumn 2023.

2023 is shaping up to be a busy year for Baskery with album releases, a festival-filled summer and a large-scale UK tour in the autumn.
