At the Kulturcentrum Ronneby Art Gallery, Bella Rune connects many threads in her artwork over the past few years. Christina Skantze
The body is there
25.3 – 21.5 2023

Stitch after stitch, human-like tapestry creatures grow out of Christina Skantzi’s hands. She carefully molds body parts and figures from silky tricot and polyester batting. The artist always carries with him a part of his own body to sew. When she works on buses and trains, it sparks her curiosity. It unlocks meetings that can give characters a life of their own. For the exhibition at the Kulturcentrum Ronneby konsthall, I was particularly inspired by the way children express emotions with their whole bodies.
