Despite the many films behind him, director Taika Waititi still wants to describe himself as an “indie”. In an interview with Indiewire, he said that he still feels like he’s trying to survive in Hollywood.
Waititi is currently working on the Marvel movie “Thor: Love and Thunder”. It is the second film about the superhero, Thor, directed by Waititi.
He says he still doesn’t know anything about superheroes and hasn’t done any research whatsoever about the different threads and characters in the Marvel universe for this movie.
– I don’t want to read comic books, I just want to make my movie my way, bring my stuff and then the movie studio can stop me if my thoughts spoil the story. “I’d like to take a character and make it into the movie, or kill a character, but it all affects different things that I have no idea about,” Waititi says.
