– We will support the police, of course. But now we are analyzing their habitat location, and in direct cooperation with them we will come up with the best possible solution, says Karl Johan Edström, Head of Operations at the headquarters.

To be able to provide the best possible support to the police, armed forces need to know what consequences this has for their own operations, decide which administrative structure will be applied, how information management should be handled and when support should be provided at the appropriate time. It is implemented.

But it is important to remember that the armed forces and the police today have good and effective cooperation in a number of different areas, says Karl Johan Edström.

The units to be allocated by the Swedish Armed Forces in the future to support the police will be under the command of a military commander, in accordance with Article 11 of the Support Regulations.

Regarding the new investigation that the government decided to conduct on Thursday, which concerns strengthening police capabilities, the armed forces will return to the topic. However, opinions and comments will be left to the investigator.
