A major setback for the dictatorship
Anton Gerashchenko, an advisor to President Zelensky, described the drone attack as a strong blow to Russia.
– Tuapse Refinery is one of the ten largest refineries in Russia. In addition, the only Russian refinery is located on the Black Sea coast, he noted in a post on the X website.
Gerashenko also notes that this is the sixth successful drone attack against oil facilities in Russia in January. The presidential advisor said that the effects of the attacks are beginning to appear in Russian society.
– Due to drone attacks and technical problems at refineries, fuel production has decreased, which has led to higher prices in Russia – not only for fuel, but also for food, writes Gerashenko.
“More surprises to come”
The Tuapse oil refinery is located about 240 kilometers southeast of the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula.
A Ukrainian security source told Agence France-Presse: It is a very important facility for the enemy.
The security source who spoke to Pravda confirms that the oil refinery that was attacked is of great importance to the Russian economy.
“Ukrainian security services are striking deep into Russia and are continuing attacks on facilities that are not only of great importance to the Russian economy, but also for supplying fuel to enemy forces,” the source says.

Russian authorities say no one was injured in the drone attack.
The Moscow Times reported that it took about 100 firefighters and dozens of tracked vehicles to extinguish the fire.
Russia did not comment on the damage to the facility.
