The bug reporting website DownDetector has received a large number of registrations about problems all over the world.
Thousands of percent increase
By 9 p.m. on Friday night, the red curve indicating the number of bug reports had increased by several thousand percent.
Almost 11,700 error reports were received at 9.27pm compared to just 50 earlier in the evening.
Instagram is also affected
Instagram has also suffered from widespread operational problems.
At 20.30, only 131 errors were reported, but an hour later, the error curve officially exploded.
About 9,300 errors have been reported at one time regarding Instagram.
