Allente launches Android TV app

Allente launches Android TV app

Nordic TV distributor Allente (formerly Canal Digital + Viasat) has launched a new Android TV app. Here you can access the stream of channels you subscribe to via your current TV package.

The app is available for both satellite and fiber optic TV customers and OTT customers with a TV with Android 8.0 user interface or higher. This is usually a TV from Sony, Philips, Toshiba or Xiaomi, not least Chromecast with Google TV.

The launch of the Android TV app is a milestone for Allente. Our new product platform provides a seamless experience, where the user can easily navigate between live channels, TV archive, streaming content and streaming services. We know that our customers have requested and appreciate quick and easy access to their favorite sports, news, movies and series on the platform of their choice.

That’s what John Espen Niergaard, chief technology officer at Allente, said.

End of beta test

The Allente Android TV app has already been beta tested by customers across the Nordic countries, with constant updates and improvements throughout the summer. In the coming months, more features and content will be included in the app, including the ability to rent or purchase content.
