A remarkable campaign and extraordinary efforts by the Swedes in the members and global operations unite the winner of this year’s Global Actor of the Year: Pernilla Helm Danielsson, Malin Riba and Jesper Albrecht, all of whom live in Singapore.
The Swedes in the world have nearly a hundred representatives around the world covering about 50 countries. They are ready with their networks, experience and local knowledge to help members who are about to move there or already living in the country.
Among other things, they can help newly emigrated Swedes gain a network of other Swedes, as well as local contacts as well. In addition, they can advise on schools, healthcare, real estate agents, law firms, etc. In other words, representatives are the key people in the organization.
Many also choose to become more involved in Swedes’ activities in the world. They conduct dialogues with Swedish embassies, clubs and associations, but also with chambers of commerce to raise Swedes’ awareness of global activities and current issues. Some take the initiative to hold local meetings, others use digital tools to bring together Swedes abroad in the country for information and discussion meetings. In this way, the organization can keep its ears on the right track and quickly pick up on the needs and views of Swedes abroad.
Three great prizesMore solid
It is an annual tradition to organize a day-long meeting in Stockholm for representatives. This year’s representative day was held on August 16 at Novare, a partner of Svenskar i Världen. There we took the opportunity to present the “Global Actor of the Year 2023” award.
This year’s award went to no less than three actors who all live in Singapore: Pernilla Helm Danielsson, Malin Ripa and Jesper Albrecht.
The award was presented by Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Lennart Koskinen.
– Committed representatives are a very important foundation for the Swedes in global operations. Your motivation, commitment and network are a valuable asset to the organization, not to mention the value you provide to all Swedes abroad who come into contact with you through their membership. This year, we want to pay attention to at least three great actors who have gone the extra mile and brought extraordinary efforts to the company, with Lennart Koskinen starting his acceptance speech.
Justified by Pernilla Helm Danielson:
Highly motivated, Pernilla Hjelm Danielsson conducted several preliminary meetings of the Swedish Parliament abroad in 2023. In an educational and solution-oriented way, she led conversations, picked up problem situations and proposed solutions from Swedes abroad around the world. .
Pernilla also did an excellent job as chairman of one of the working groups in the Parliament of Swedes Abroad.
As if that wasn’t enough, she also organized a digital information meeting about Swedes in the world with Malin Ripa and Jesper Albrecht.
Based on these outstanding efforts, Pernilla Helm Danielsson is a well-deserved recipient of the “International Actor of the Year 2023” award.
Malin Riba’s justification:
Malin Ripa, who has extensive experience as a school and vocational guidance counselor, has taken her own initiative to create a school and curriculum guide to support Swedes worldwide and their families when emigrating as well as returning home. The guide has since been translated into English and is now part of the Swedes in the World Companion programme.
As if that wasn’t enough, she also organized a digital information meeting about Swedes in the world with Pernilla Helm Danielsson and Jesper Albrecht.
For these extraordinary efforts, coupled with her drive and personal commitment, Malin Ripa is a well-deserved recipient of the “International Actress of the Year 2023” award.
Jesper Albrecht’s justification:
Jesper Albrecht has proven to be an invaluable resource on matters relating to immigration and residence permits for accompanying persons, a hot topic for thousands of Swedes abroad who have a residence permit or are not from Sweden. Thanks to his extensive experience, Jesper participated as chair in both the preliminary parliament on the same topic and in a working group in the Parliament of Swedes Abroad 2023.

Thanks to these amazing efforts, Jesper Albrecht well deserves the “International Actor of the Year 2023” award.
