The Kopps-like comedy was a success in England

Hot Fuzz is a slapstick comedy film written by Edgar Wright, director of the zombie film “Shaun of the Dead.”

The crème de la crème of the English cast has been assembled, and roles include Simon Pegg, Steve Coogan, Jim Broadbent, Martin Freeman and Timothy Dalton. Today the film premieres in cinemas in England and critics seem to be positive.

Woo, Woo, It's the Voice of the Police: Right after the undead attack in Sean, Simon Pegg sets up Hot Fuzz, a criminally funny cop movie spoof that plays like Bad Boys II meets Midsomer Murders (and we mean that as a compliment).

The action-packed comedy revolves around idealistic police officer Nicholas Angell's work to clean up London's criminal underworld. Unfortunately, coworkers aren't completely focused on work.

The film appears to be similar to the Swedish film Kopps, directed by Joseph Fares.
