An angry Boris Johnson stormed out of parliament

An angry Boris Johnson stormed out of parliament

The announcement comes at the end of an inquiry that found Boris Johnson’s statements to Parliament about a series of meetings that breached pandemic rules were false.

Leaving his seat in Parliament, Johnson was not satisfied.

In his long statement, the former prime minister said that the opposition parties wanted him removed. Johnson also points out that he hasn’t ruled out a comeback.

“It is very sad to leave Parliament – at least for now,” he said in the statement.

Johnson also explains that he has received a letter from the Parliamentary Privileges Scrutiny Committee, where the committee – to his surprise – has decided to use a procedure to expel him from Parliament.

He calls the committee’s inquiry a sham court.

“From the beginning their intention was to frame me as a criminal against the facts”.

Johnson resigned as Prime Minister in September 2022 after a series of political scandals, but he retained his seat in Parliament.

Boris Johnson’s biggest scandal during his time as Prime Minister was popularly known as “Partigate”. In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, when Britain was in somewhat stricter lockdown, government offices, 10 Downing Street, hosted several parties. The Prime Minister and many of his staff were fined and many, both in their own party and in the opposition, quickly called for Johnson’s resignation.
