North Data Center is investing further in the North region and has acquired two data center facilities from Advania in Finland. The acquisition is an important part of the company’s expansion and investment in the Nordic countries – the plan is also to build a third data center in Finland.
The deal means that atNorth operates the data center facilities acquired in Finland. Together with the experts and specialists of Advania, it is ensured that the transition takes place completely without sleep and with continuous processes that do not affect the existing clients.
– We are happy and proud of this acquisition and the ability to launch it further north in Finland. Growing and expanding our services in a sustainable and strategic manner across the North region is part of our growth strategy. As organizations increasingly move their data operations to the Nordic countries, investments are essential for us to be able to support customers effectively. We are also preparing for further expansion in the region, says Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson, CEO of North.
Finland attracts many foreign clients in line with its leading global position in technology and digitization. The Finnish government has prioritized digitization and Finnish companies have a long tradition of investing in research and development. This means that the technology sector is booming with many successful startups and innovative companies.
Finland aims to be climate-neutral by 2035 and to be the first fossil-free welfare society in the world. Finland is a leader in the development of renewable energy technology and has a strong focus on sustainability, which is perfectly in line with atNorth’s focus on sustainable IT.
In recent years, AtNorth has enjoyed triple-digit growth as a result of its excellent customer service. atNorth’s solutions are delivered as a service and are designed to be flexible and scalable based on growing customer needs and the growing number of sustainability initiatives. Advania’s ambition is, in collaboration with atNorth, to continue to provide first-class solutions to existing and new clients and to become the preferred IT services provider in Northern Europe.
– An important reason to partner with atNorth in Finland is their focus on sustainable, high-quality services. We value cooperation with companies that are as customer-focused and good-minded as we are,” says Atte Kekkonen, CEO of Advania Finland.
AtNorth has a long history of investing in areas with top IT talent and this year will open its third data center facility in Akureyri, Iceland’s tech hub in the North.
