Earlier this year, Microsoft showcased a computer it developed specifically for those interested in developing applications for the ARM architecture. The mini PC is called Project Volterra or “Windows Dev Kit 2023” and is now released for developers who are passionate about developing ARM applications for Windows 11.
The Volterra is powered by a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processor, and has 512GB of storage and 32GB of RAM. The computer is also equipped with Wifi 6, Ethernet inputs, 3 USB-A ports, 2 USB-C ports and a Mini Display connector. It is possible to connect up to three monitors in Volterra. Microsoft also writes that its development environment Visual Studio 2022 17.4 is now natively running on ARM, something that should properly speed this up.
Windows Dev Kit 2023 aka Project Volterra is now released in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, UK and US and will cost $600. Below you will find a video in which you can closely examine the computer.
