We tested the latest OnePlus phone. Here is the OnePlus 10T.

At the beginning of August, OnePlus showed off its latest phone, the OnePlus 10T, which is not the T version of the 10 Pro but a brand new phone. Keep in mind that this is the successor to the standard OnePlus 10, which hasn’t come before. Today is the start of sales and we have been testing the phone for two weeks.

Who is OnePlus 10T for?

The OnePlus 10T is the phone for you who like things that go fast, and the fast charging on this phone is absolutely magical, which is especially great for those who don’t like to charge their phone overnight. It’s also a phone that wants the best performance that can be had in the Android world, without necessarily having to pay more than 10,000 kroner.

What’s new in OnePlus 10T?

This OnePlus phone is already getting the news we’ve come to expect from the Chinese manufacturer, like Qualcomm’s latest processor, good camera and relatively bloatware-free software, but above all we find incredibly fast charging with 150W Supervooc. The phone with this technology charges from 0 to 100 percent in just 21 minutes, but in fact it seems to run faster. On the camera side, we find three different sensors: the main camera of 50 megapixels, the ultra-wide angle of 8 megapixels, and finally we find the macro camera of 2 megapixels.

What raises the temperature?

Really fast charging is this phone’s biggest selling point, at least in my opinion. It’s not that the battery needs to be charged all the time, but there’s 4800 mAh on board divided into two battery cells, enough for a day’s use. The reason it is divided into two cells is that it is possible to distribute 75 watts per cell while charging. A technology that OnePlus has used for a few years at this point.

What lowers the temperature?

So this isn’t a OnePlus flagship, which means we’re missing a few things. Things that disappear compared to the more expensive 10 Pro are the Hasselblad collaboration, the water resistance (that’s only an IP54 rating) and we also have a slightly worse build quality depending on which way you look at it. Instead of glass and aluminum, the phone is made entirely of plastic. Is it noticeable in normal use? Honestly, the answer is no, but OnePlus didn’t exactly make this phone.”apologetic plasticInstead, it almost seems to mislead customers into thinking it’s a ‘more luxurious material.’ Meanwhile, the phone also loses a physical switch on the side to turn on silent mode, and OnePlus says they removed the switch to accommodate more battery and better antennas. Also support for wireless charging on board.

The overall impression of the phone is pretty cool unfortunately, 8000kr is still quite a lot of money, especially when the OnePlus 10 Pro only costs 1500kr. Sure, a fast phone and a clean version of Android is always nice, but somehow at this point it feels pretty uninspiring, and I actually prefer Samsung’s One UI, which is well executed these days. If the 10T drops by a few thousand, that’s a pretty good deal for the Snapdragon 9 Plus Gen 1, but for now, the purchase seems far from reasonable.
