The new Xbox console combines controls with the smell of pizza

Different themed consoles are released every now and then, but these usually only have color themes from the games or similar. With the premiere of the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, Microsoft has taken this a step further and made an Xbox console with an external unit to generate the smell of pizza.

Xbox controllers work with both PC and Xbox consoles and give users all the control options that a regular console offers. What’s unique is the removable unit that, when activated, emits a scent, which probably smells more like Mikrad Baileys pizza than fluffy Neapolitan pizza. This is to maximize the gaming experience when playing, for example, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge.

This isn’t the first time major game studios have played with scent. To coincide with the release of South Park: The Fractured But Whole, Ubisoft released a product called Nosulus Rift that released less pleasant scents that “enhanced the gameplay experience”.

Unfortunately, it won’t be possible to purchase the console with the scent accessory, but Microsoft plans to give out unique copies to people who sign up for the raffle.
