Unknown to many today – but this fall she stars in a full role, opposite Tommy Korberg and Helen Sjoholm in ‘Anglaguard’. On Saturday, July 15, Ledingo resident Jenny Holmgren will be awarded the 2023 Annalisa Ericson Scholarship.

Annalisa Erickson

Annalisa Ericson (1913-2011) was a famous actress and stage performer. In 2001, she was awarded the Honorary Gold Badge for her efforts in Swedish film and was awarded the King’s Order of the 8th Size in High Blue Ribbon. As the first Swedish actress, Annalisa Eriksson founded a scholarship foundation in 2005 whose long-term goal is to recognize and praise female musical artists now and in the future. Each scholarship is worth SEK 100,000 and is today the largest and most prestigious music award in the country.

Prize 2023 for a resident of Lidingö

This year, the award is given to Lidingo resident Jenny Holmgren on the basis that she has demonstrated remarkable effort and talent in singing, dancing and theatre.

– It feels completely surreal and feels like an incredibly great honor, of course, says Jenny Holmgren.

Jenny has been a musical artist for 15 years and made her debut in the Wermlandsoper musical ‘Spring Awakening’. In addition, she has been seen by a large audience on TV3 talent show “West End Star” and has acted in a number of theaters and opera houses across Sweden. This fall we can see her play opposite Tommy Kourberg and Helen Scholem in “Anglagarde” at the Oscar Theatre, and it’s something she’s looking forward to:

– It looks so much fun, we had a workshop for one week in May with the whole group where we read scripts and tried on costumes, we’re a great team and we’re going to have a lot of fun, I think!

Finally, are there any theatrical or musical tips you would like to give the islanders?

– Go see Änglagård at the Oscars this fall, haha!

We at Lidingö Nyheter congratulate Jenny and wish you all the best for the future!

You can find tickets for Änglagård here.
