The ongoing scandal at the company behind games like “Call of Duty”, “World of Warcraft” and “Overwatch” has dominated the media hype in the gaming world lately.
Activision Blizzard executives are accused, among other things, of sexual harassment and belittling female employees.
One of those who had to leave after the lawsuit is American game designer Jesse McCurry. He was one of those who attended the gatherings in the infamous “Cosby Room”.
In the game “Overwatch”, one of the most famous characters in the game is named after him, and his name is McCree. At least for now.
“It will take time”
Five years later, the character was renamed due to the scandal, Activision Blizzard announced in a statement according to ribbed.
“We believe it is necessary to change the name of the hero called today McCree to something that better represents what Overwatch stands for,” they wrote.
“We understand that changes like this for such a beloved and pivotal hero in the game’s imagination will take time to properly render, and we will share updates as work continues.”
The state of California is behind the lawsuit against Activision Blizzard, which is like a huge corporation in a student union, where men rule and reside.
CEO J. Allen Brack also had to leave after the scandal.
