Since discovering the whole matter, MSI staff have begun working on tidying up the system from a functional and security perspective, as well as reporting the incident to the appropriate authorities. Therefore, the recommendation is to only use files downloaded from the official MSI website, which include firmware and BIOS, among other things, for the company’s motherboards, graphics cards and laptops.

The company did not mention that any customer data would be affected by the cyber attack. However, MSI writes that it is still working to ensure data protection for its customers, employees and partners.
