If you want to trace the rays, the jar can get sweaty.
On October 7, it’s time to head to Yarra Far Cry 6And those who plan to do it on PC can now take a look at the official devices System requirements. Ubisoft also provided a video review of the various settings, where they noted that they put a lot of effort into optimizing the game for PC. It manifests itself in support for wide and multiple screens, as well as the ability to download a separate package with additional HD textures.
In terms of the system requirements themselves, it’s pretty nice if you settle for the minimum requirements, which provide 1080p and 30fps (and certainly most of the graphics controls at “low”), because you can do that with an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel i5-4460, along with either the RX 460 from AMD or the GTX 960 from Nvidia.
It means going to the recommended level of 1080p and 60fps, and even if the processor takes a real shot in an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or Intel i7-7700, you can do it on the graphics card interface with an AMD RX VEGA64 or NVIDIA GTX 1080.
When ray tracing comes into the picture, the requirements stand out unsurprisingly, and if you want to play in 4K, then apply 30 frames per second according to Ubisoft itself. For that you need an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or Intel i7-10700k, as well as an AMD RX 6800 or NVIDIA RTX 3080.
It’s unclear if we can manage the intimidation of a 60fps game on the say RTX 3090, but since the game also supports AMD FidelityFX’s scaling technology, that shouldn’t be impossible (and this technology wasn’t taken into account when selecting system requirements).
Jocke has already taken a turn at Yara, so be sure to read his book preview.
