In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II may celebrate her 70th birthday as British Regent – this will be felt across the UK and ends in June. There’s an extra twist at a hotel in London – offering free afternoon tea to everyone by the name of Elizabeth!
The 5-star London Marriott Hotel County Hall is located on the south bank of the River Thames overlooking the Big Ben, Parliament House and London Eye. County Hall, the building where the hotel is located, was opened in 1922 by King George V and Queen Mary, thus celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. It later became the seat of the City Council of London, where many politicians and royal families have passed. Their afternoon tea is legendary in the unseen library of the Big Pen.
In connection with the first British Regent celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s platinum anniversary – that is, 70 years on the throne – a long series of events take place throughout the year in England, and all end on a four-day weekend. Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5.

Only the correct spelling is recognized
The County Hall of the London Marriott Hotel has chosen to celebrate in its own way. Throughout June 2022, all visitors by the name of Elizabeth can enjoy a regular British lunch at the hotel for free. The terms are as follows:
The seat must be booked in advance and apply subject to availability.
This applies to a table for at least 2 people to book a traditional afternoon tea (worth £ 49).
This only applies to one person per reservation.
Elizabeth must submit proof of this in the form of a passport or driver’s license.
And unfortunately not all Elizabeth and Elizabeth – no writing variant is recognized. Elizabeth is the only one who bothers to pronounce correctly like the queen, i.e. with z and th.
If you meet the requirements, make a reservation thelibraryatcountyhall.com. God save the queen!
