Do you want to reset BIOS password by shortening flash memory?

Do you want to reset BIOS password by shortening flash memory?

Hello, I have a laptop ASUS F571GT on which I put the bios password. I tried to remove it by filling in “Change admin password” to empty fields in BIOS. He said the password will be reset. Then I start the laptop and now the old BIOS password is deleted and I can no longer enter the BIOS, but I see the ASUS logo and then it wants me to fill in the BIOS password. (I tried the old password, as well as hitting the enter key with an empty field. Both don’t work.)
I called ASUS and thought about sending it in but they got an email where they said the laptop’s motherboards (DA0XKTMB8C0) are out of stock so they can’t exchange it and therefore don’t want to pick it up.

It seems silly to have to replace the motherboard to reset the BIOS password. So I checked to see if the computer had a CMOS battery, which it doesn’t seem to have but instead found the following: WINBOND 25Q128JVSQ 1927. It appears to be a serial flash memory. So I’m assuming the BIOS password is saved in this part?

Then to my question. I searched Google on how to reset BIOS and found a guide ( https://davidzou.com/articles/bios-password-bypass ) which states to put a screwdriver between pins 5 (SCL) and 6 (SDA) when the computer begins to short-circuit the memory until the BIOS password is reset in this part. It feels a little scary, have never tried this before and wonder if it was a good idea?

The other problem is that I’ve found manuals that talk about being able to flash an EEPROM which I think is another name for this part. But then you use the clamp connected to another computer, so that the BIOS is replaced? It feels complicated because I just want to reset the password. The computer was working fine otherwise.
