Rolls-Royce presented its new “Boot Tail” on Thursday, which, according to the luxury car company, is the “most ambitious” it has built. It is only made in triplicate for handpicked customers.
The tail of the boat means, as the name suggests, that the rear of the vehicle is in the shape of a yacht deck with a color scheme from the sea. The new Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is inspired by the J-Class yacht sailing racing boat and the original Rolls-Royce Boat Tail from 1932.
Yesterday Rolls-Royce announced that they are re-creating their handcrafted car division, in their home country of Great Britain called “Vehicle Building”.
Rolls-Royce CEO says: “We can offer our customers the opportunity to create a vehicle where each component is individually handcrafted according to their exact individual requirements” Torsten Muller-Utvoss To the motor body.
She worked with the owners for four years
In doing so, the first car of the new segment will be three different Rolls-Royce Puttails, which will be entirely produced according to the wishes of the customers. The car has four seats and is approximately 5.8 meters (19 feet) long. New car owners have been working with Rolls-Royce designers for four years to select their vehicle.
Among the luxury accessories found in cars, you will find dual fridges for champagne, and specially designed watches that can be worn on the arm and inserted into the car to function as a car watch.
A very small part of the job
“It’s a very rare thing that only very select people can do. It’s a very small part of our business and for a very good reason … our idea is most likely to create a Coachbuild project every two years, commissioned by a specific client,” says Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös.
Mercedes also built cars named the Boat Tail. In 2018, autoguide.com called the 1929 Mercedes-Benz S-Type Barker “the tail boat” the most beautiful car ever built.
