Mattie Mattson continues to present at the European Swimming Championships in Hungary. In the semifinals of the 200-meter breaststroke, he was the third fastest, while raising his Finnish record to 17.

In the morning, the 27-year-old clocked a time of 2.08.43 with a breast stroke in tests of his march distance 200. During the evening session, it went even faster, which fits well into Thursday’s final.

Matson, who swam in the heat of the first semifinal, dominated the race until the last. After speeding through all the turns, he had to give up 20 meters from the target when Russian Anton Subkov passed Finn.

World record holder Subkov won with a time of 2.07.94, while Madsen finished second with a new Finnish record of 2.08.26.

The high class is ready for the finals

In the second heat, the victory was very fast for Sweden’s Eric Person with a time of 2.07.85.

Matti Madson has set a new Finnish record every time he jumps in the pool. On Monday, there were two new records in the 100m breaststroke, which are twice as long today.

The final for seventh place in the Mimosa Jallo 50 had to be settled by backstroke. After swimming 27.93 in the semifinals, the clock stopped at 28.16, where the victory went from Holland to Kra Dozent with 27.36.

The other medals went to Kathleen Dawson of Great Britain and Mike de Ward of Dusainte. Jallo finished 42nd out of a European Championship bronze.
