Västernorrland region – Expanded vaccination for at-risk groups and 65+ against coronavirus and influenza

Västernorrland region – Expanded vaccination for at-risk groups and 65+ against coronavirus and influenza

To protect those in the province who are in an at-risk group or who are 65 or older, their allotted vaccination time is now being extended. This means that those who do not belong to a risk group or who are under 65 will have to wait a little longer to get vaccinated against influenza and Covid-19.

The plan was to announce vaccination times to the public as early as December 4. Since the demand for vaccination among at-risk groups and those over 65 years of age was high and not everyone had enough time to receive their vaccine, public vaccination has now been postponed.

– We need additional time to prioritize the elderly and vulnerable groups first and foremost, so that as many of them as possible can be vaccinated soon against additional doses of the coronavirus and seasonal influenza. “When we see that it has been done, we will announce as soon as possible the times when the public can book,” says Malin Plantin Sjoblom, head of vaccination, self-sampling and infection tracking operations.

Fewer appointments to book now

When you log in to book an appointment now, the selectable drop-down menu in the booking system will only show appointments for the 65+ age group and the at-risk group if you want to book a combined flu and COVID-19 vaccination.

Combined influenza and COVID-19 vaccination appointments will only be available for people over 65 and at-risk groups.

attention! If you have already booked an appointment and are under 65, that time will apply.
